Computer Science Education Week is coming up December 9th-15 and why not put a twist on your Hour of Code… with Artificial Intelligence (AI)? In this webinar, Rebecca, Thushari and Martin unpack what AI is, the fascinating real-world applications of AI, as well as unplugged and visual programming activities that you can try in the classroom to teach students in both primary and secondary school all about AI! This webinar is based around CSER’s latest free online courses about teaching AI in primary and secondary classrooms. Come join us to learn about this exciting new world of possibilities with AI!
Presenters: Dr Rebecca Vivian & Thushari Atapattu, The Computer Science Education Research Group (CSER) at The University of Adelaide. Dr Rebecca Vivian is an interdisciplinary Research Fellow in the CSER Group, who has experience in teacher professional development with expertise in K-12 Digital Technologies Education and the application of learning sciences to understand how people learn Computer Science. Dr Thushari Atapattu is a Researcher in the CSER Group, specialising in Natural Language Processing (NLP) & Learning Analytics and their application to solve societal and educational challenges such as cyberbullying, mental health discourse and student learning in online learning environments. Martin Richards is the content manager for the Digital Technologies Hub.
