Calling all Digital Technologies Hub superusers!
The Digital Technologies (DT) Hub is seeking expressions of interest from teachers who are confident and experienced in the delivery of the Digital Technologies curriculum to become Digital Technologies Hub Champions for the 2023 school year.
The DT Hub Champions group will consist of up to 12 teachers, comprising both primary and secondary school teachers from across states and territories, government and non-government sectors, and metro and regional locations.
Benefits of being a Champion
As a DT Hub Champion, you will have the opportunity to:
- develop expertise with like-minded colleagues from across Australia
- share your expertise and experience with the broader profession
- augment learning around V9.0 of the Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies
- count your participation towards your professional learning requirements to maintain your teacher accreditation.
Being a DT Hub Champion is a voluntary role. However, Education Services Australia (ESA), who manage the DT Hub on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Education, will pay for $3,000 per Champion to your school for teacher relief and/or towards your professional learning facilitation activities.
What does it mean to be a DT Hub Champion?
Over the course of the year, the role of a DT Hub Champion will include the following.
- Participation in a kick-off workshop to be held in Melbourne on Friday 5 May 2023. The purpose of the workshop is to consider the DT Hub scope and sequence, and changes that could be made to improve its usefulness. You’ll also consider how you can contribute resources used in your teaching and learning programs, and discuss the creation of new videos to support lessons and assessment and workshop opportunities to promote the DT Hub and its resources.
- Contribution to the co-design of DT Hub resources, and provision of feedback on resources as they are developed.
- Creation of videos and/or photos of worked examples from your classroom to support DT Hub lesson plans. Guidance documents to facilitate creation of new media will be provided; videos can be created on phones or other cameras (specialist cameras not required).
- Sharing of published resources with your networks.
- Contribution to an online space to share ideas and resources around implementation of the DT curriculum.
- Facilitation of professional learning by sharing your experiences with DT Hub resources, and DT curriculum implementation with other educators in a forum that best suits you.
A selection of the materials created from the DT Hub Champion Network will be made available on the DT Hub. If your contributions are included, you would be acknowledged as the creator of the materials. Consent for any children and/or adults who appear in any videos and photos you contribute (using a provided Release Form) will be required.
Please submit expressions of interest by 5:00 pm AEST on Sunday 2nd April 2023.
